Consolidated Planning
The concept of Consolidated Planning in regard to technology is rooted in the relationships of technology to the parts of the broader context: the development of Curriculum, Management Systems, People and Facilities. Technology plans must explain how technologies support broad school improvement. In Consolidated Planning:
- technology is viewed as an important tool to support the purposes and operation of a school system, including curriculum, teaching and learning, data analysis and decision making, and staff development;
- technology should become an integral part of the plans and procedures in those task areas;
- planning for technology should not occur independently of those areas, and the core of a district technology plan should be the summation of the technology implications of them.
Support for the concept:
Services: NETC offers direct technical assistance.
Tools: Guidelines and Worksheets are identified.
Models: Effective models from SEAs and Districts are identified.
