Vision & Goals
Establishing a working Vision & Goals will be the basis for the decisionmaker to:
- authorize,
- organize,
- support,
- review,
- adopt, and
- implement a plan for the use of videoconferencing based upon a realistic timeline.
To clarify the use of terms, here are some definitions:
Vision:
A vision statement for the development of distance education teaching and learning will state a school or district's beliefs-its view of the future that the use of videoconferencing technology can help bring about. Sample
Goal:
A goal is a statement of broad direction, general purpose, or intent. It is general and timeless and is not concerned with a particular achievement within a specified time period. Sample
Objective:
An objective is measurable, is linked to goals, and puts specific task(s) and responsibilities into a time line for implementation. Sample
Needs Assessment:
Basically, you are asking yourself the question, "What unmet educational needs exist in my school system that can be filled by the use of videoconferencing technology, and by no other means?"
