Theresa Maves' comments on class presentations:
(transcription)
Theresa Maves (TM): Each group of students
gave a short, 5 minute presentation using a PowerPoint multimedia
format.
Girl 1: This is our roller coaster. It's
called the "Amazon"
TM: The Public Relations Director narrated
the PowerPoint presentation, while the other group members
assisted. The Engineers held and demonstrated the machette,
which is a three dimensional, scaled model of the ride. The
Researcher held the artistic rendition, while the Architect
exhibited the top and continuos side views. Presentations
included information on special features of the roller coaster
design.
Boy 1: New magnetic technology will enable
complete control over the coaster's speed at all times. D.B.D.
(Death By Drop) is able to speed up or slow down at any time
during the ride. D.B.D. is computer controlled. By doing this,
all four cars can run at the same time.
TM: Presentations also included specific
safety design measures and historical information.
Boy 2: ... is made of very strong optic
steel and lightweight metals. Therefore it is durable, light,
yet extremely strong.
TM: Of course, they were to be persuasive,
and include a sales-pitch with their proposal.
Girl 2: Canyon Coaster Amusement Park has
never had anything like this ride. It is one of a kind, and
you can't go anywhere else in the world to ride a bigger,
better, and more thrilling ride than the one right here.
