Book Printing Instructions
for PDF booklet printing
For Double-Sided Capable Printers (highly recommended)
- Open the "PDF
version for printing" file.
- In the printing dialog window, look for the "double-sided"
printing option.
- If you can't find it, see the instructions for standard printers.
Double-sided printing requires that your printer be equipped with
a duplexing unit (many HP LaserJet 4000 series printers come with
this feature).
- In the printing dialog window, look for the "Binding"
option Set "Binding" to the 8.5" side (the shorter
side)
For Standard Printers
- Open the "PDF
version for printing" file.
- In the printing dialog window, look for the "Print Even/Odd"
option. Choose "Print Odd"
- Select "Print"
- Once the pages have printed, flip the pages over, and re-insert
them into the printer.
- Again in the printing dialog window, choose "Print Even"
instead of "Print Odd"
- Select "Print"
- This will very likely take a few tries to get right.
Printing Tips
- Put a sheet of red in as the first sheet to make it a true "Red
Book!"
- If possible, print the Red Book PDF on a PostScript Level 1 or
higher compatible printer. This includes most laser printers.
- Color printing adds some flair!
