| Keeping
students focused during whole class investigations |
During a Phase 3 math investigation, called Follow the Leader, students
take turns to try the computer-based lab experiment. It was difficult
to keep the rest of the class attending.
I needed to have some type of related seatwork for the students
to do until it was their turn to do the graph match. I had two laptops
and too many students per computer. Next year I'll have a pod of six
computers in my room and we have six probeware bundles so it will
work out much better. Still I need to design a follow-up activity
for students to analyze how they matched the graph in "Follow the
Leader" and to have them look at other types of graphs besides position
vs. time.--Meile Harris
